Springing into Hodgepodge!

It has been such a long time since I took park in Wednesday Hodgepodge - but I thought I would for a change this week.

As always, answer the questions and then link back here to see other peoples answers.

1) What's the first image that comes to your mind when you hear the word 'spring'? Which phrase best describes the season of spring where you live right now?

Definitely daffodils! They are coming out in bloom here and I just love seeing's a sign that summer is on its way. I would say 'March flowers, April showers' is quite fitting to the UK. It's the time of year where the weather can be very unpredictable ranging from warm days to drops in temperature. However, the flowers pop open too!

2) Bed, couch, stapler, garage door, computer mouse, recliner, flashlight, door knob...which household item containing springs most needs replacing in your home? Speaking of springs...did you ever own a slinky?

I would say bed. Over the winter I have noticed that my mattress has become less 'springy' so it might be time to get a new one. Of course I had a slinky growing up. In fact my nephew is getting one for his birthday next month.

3) March is women's history month. Share a favourite quote by a woman.

'Be less curious about people. And more curious about ideas.' - Marie Curie (founder of radiotherapy)

4) What's a question that looms large in your mind right now?

I would say I have a lot of questions over doubt at the moment. I really want a change of scenery in my job and I have applied for sponsorships to further my career- but still no word. I keep questioning 'will it happen?' 'will I be stuck in this job I don't enjoy anymore?'

5) Are you a sugar freak? With all the bad press sugar gets these days, have you made any efforts to reduce the amount of sugar you consume?

I do love my sweet treats but I have more of a savoury tooth. In saying that, I am very aware at present about my sugar intake. I am trying to eat more protein and less carbs.

6) Would you rather have less work to do or more work to do that you enjoy doing?

I would rather have more work to do. I thrive on being a little busy and having a little too much on my plate. I really detest complaining about being bored, so I'd much rather be too busy.

7) Ever been to Texas? Of the top ten tourist attractions which would you most like to see- The Alamo, The San Antonio River Walk, The State Capital, The Dallas Aquarium, Padre Island National Seashore, Houston Space Centre, Schlitterbahn Waterpark, Six Flags, Moody Gardens or Galveston Island?

Texas is on my to visit list! This is because I have always wanted to see the space station. However, my friend Ali is from San Antonio and she has told me about the river walk so that really appeals!

8) Insert random thought here.

Currently having the bathroom remodelled so having to take shower trips to my parents. It is exciting though seeing it come slowly together. The bathroom is the one room I hated when I moved in. I am not a fan of blue! And the bathroom was covered in blue tiles which were ick. It's time for a change!

It's nice to see you in the HP this week : ) Enjoy your bathroom re-do. I'm sure you'll love fun to have a brand new clean space. Hope something comes through for you in terms of your job.

I have a feeling that everyone on the Hodgepodge will be thinking about flowers, I definitely am. And I have a feeling that a savory tooth is less problematic than a sweet one. But you're right, carbs are an issue as well.

Happy Wednesday!
