Wednesday Hodgepodge

For the last couple of months my blog friend Katie takes part in Wednesday Hodgepodge and I have always said 'I want to take part in this'. But you know life gets in the way and all that blah blah blah.

Well today I have a day off and I am dedicating it to blogging and reducing my Google reader of 126 posts to read to 0. So I am going to take part in this fun weekly blog in that Joyce from From This Side of the Pond has created. She posts the questions on Tuesdays and you answer them and link up Wednesdays (today).

1.  ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?  The NFL is back in action along with all the college teams.  Are you a fan?  Who do you root for?  If you're not a fan what do you do while the rest of America watches Saturday, Sunday, Monday night, and now Thursday night games?

Whoa! That's a lot of football. In England we don't have NFL but we have Soccer which makes people crazy! I don't understand it and don't agree with the pay so I am quite happy not rooting for anyone and sticking to my own little world.

2. What's something I'll always find in your closet?

Scarves! It sounds mad but I have loads and when I need one I know I will find one in there.

3. Share one of your earliest memories.

My earliest memory is not very vivid but I distinctly remember lying in what I think was my cot and peeling green wallpaper from the walls. Whenever I mention it to my Mum she says it's crazy cause I was only just gone 2 at the time. It was because I peeled the wallpaper they had to redecorate my nursery - whoops!

4. What circus act best describes your week so far?

Most definitely the tightrope! This week is crazy busy and I am not sure whether I'll balance it out or fall at the moment.

5. What's a food you disliked as a child but you love now?

I hated Spaghetti when I was little. I hated the texture and it always looked so slimy! Now I love it! mmm Spag Bol and garlic bread yum!

6.  Describe your summer in three words.

Wanted More Sunshine!

7.  Where were you on September 11, 2001? Will you do anything special to mark the day this year?
I remember it so clearly. I had just finished school and was walking home. I noticed everyone was on their phone and when other students got in their cars I'd hear things like "you won't believe what has..." and "some bloody terrorists have..." I was actually a little afraid to walk home because I thought something was going on here in the UK. As I walked in through the door, the TV is the first thing you see, I just saw a building collapse. And my Mum and Dad just going "oh my God!!!" - it wasn't until I got home that I knew how bad it was.

My work place have a 2 minute silence at 2pm as a mark of respect.

8.  Insert your own random thought here.
I take back all those times when I didn't want to nap when I was younger!

Spaghetti was one of our favorite meals when we were kids. We would pretend we were eating worms. I know that hilarious and disgusting to think about now, but you know how silly kids can be.

Visiting you via Wednesday Hodgepodge and now your newest follower. Hop over when you get chance to see me at Cathy Kennedy's Blog!

Funny how we remember so vividly what we were doing on Sept 11. I can't believe it was so many years ago - my how time flies! Funny, my daughter didn't like spaghetti as a little girl either, now it's one of our favourites! My earliest memory is when we fetched my Mum and newborn baby brother from the hospital - I was also just 2. There was a huge fish tank that lined the walls of the waiting room and Mum was upset because I was more interested in the fish than my new brother! ;)

This looks fun, I wanna join in!

I don't remember where I was on Sept 11th either. I remember having to go into work in the evening, and when I came home my Mum informed me we were supposed to have been flying back from New York City that day.

And my earliest memory is scaling my cot and running through to my Mum's room!

Welcome to the HP! So glad you found your way here. I see you are in Woking : ) I lived In Gerrards Cross (Bucks) for a little over 6 years. We moved back to the US in 2009 but I may still talk excessively about my love of all things across the pond.

I got an "Oh, my you DO remember!" from my Mom in response to an early memory too. I described what I remembered and where I was and she said it was at a baby shower. I was almost 3. Fun to be shocking like that, huh?

I can't imagine if I'd disliked spaghetti as a kid! I had a real Italian Nonna; I'd have been disowned! LOL

This looks like fun!!!! I hate the NFL here. My first memory is being at a carnival and crying because the men on stilts scared me!
