Back Home

Well after a plane journey that I never thought would end...I am finally home after a FANTASTIC trip to west coast USA. I went through my pictures last night with my family and I am still in awe of what I saw all in 10 days.

I had the best time ever. I don't really know where to start with blogging about it to be honest. So I thought I would make next week 'America Week' on here so I can fully document everything (and share more photos without boring you!).

Go to California's worth every penny...I mean cent! Here's a snippet.

States Bound.

When you read this I will be flying on a plane to America! I am so excited for everything we have planned on this trip. I was looking at the links to hotels and the attractions nearby - *does a happy dance*.

My only fear is the jet lag. I hate it! I get the worst migraines and when I was in New York last November pain killers and I were firm friends. I will be 7 hours behind British time unlike the 5 hours time difference I had in NYC. So here's to hoping I overcome it quickly and will be easily distracted! Below is a list of where I will be going on which dates so if you happen to see me any American pals- give me a wave!

20th March 12- Flying 11 hours and landing in Los Angeles. I have to say I am so excited for the Virgin airlines in flight entertainment system. The films are awesome!

21st March 12- Free day in Los Angeles. We really want to do Sunset Boulevard, Rodeo drive and of course the Hollywood sign!

22nd March 12 -  The travel company we're travelling with offer an excursion to San Diego for the day. Depending on what we get done in LA the day before we will see about going here.

23rd March 12 - Today we have the morning in LA and then we're getting a coach to San Francisco. Along the way we're stopping for a BBQ lunch on Pismo beach! I think San Francisco is the city I am most excited about seeing at the moment, but I guess I'll tell you that when I get back. We arrive late afternoon and I think our plan is China town that evening!

24th March 12 - We're exploring San Francisco today! We have also booked tickets to do a tour of Alcatraz island. I also really want to go to Pier 39 and do the cable car to Fisherman's wharf.

25th March 12 - Yosemite National Park. We're staying in a log cabin for the night- so this will be a first. I think this will be a very welcome break from the hustle and bustle of the city.

26th March 12- Travel day bleugh! We're getting a tram and then a coach journey to Nevada. We have booked a hotel in Colorado (Laughlin) to stay for the night.

27th March 12 -  Today will be a bucket list moment. We're spending the day in the Grand Canyon doing the sky walk across it and then doing a Helicopter ride over it!!!! I've never been in a Helicopter before and I just know the pictures and views will be breathtaking!!!!

28th March 12 - VEGAS!!! Sin city has never be high up there on a place to see but my sister and fiance went a couple of years ago. It just sounds too good to be true. Roller coasters in hotels, gondola rides, restaurant that we're going. Not so much for the gambling but to do everything else. Plus, I am also going to meet April my long time blogger and twitter pal - eekk!!!!

29th March 12 - We're spending half a day in Vegas and then we head back to LA for the night.

30th March 12 -  10 hour flight back home!

Will share all when I return, take care everyone!

Cause Mum you're the best...

This amazing lady will always be, for as long as I live, my favourite person. I don't think I could EVER say, write, sing or portray just how much she has done for my siblings and I. She is the most unselfish person I know and she does not realise how incredible she is.

I value her. I love her. I respect her and I look up to her more than she could ever know. This woman never left my side night and day when I was critically ill in hospital at the age of 1. She taught me how to ride a bike without stabilisers when I was 6. She sat me down and told me all about the birds and the bees when I was 10. She took the day off work on my first day of secondary school at the age of 12 to take me in because I was so nervous. She held my hair back for me in the bathroom so many nights when I was physically sick with worry over my maths exams at the age of 16. She told me several times "you can do it"  when I honestly felt like giving up with nursing school at 19. She never stopped taking pictures of me at graduation when I was 22. And at the age of 23 she is teaching me how to cook and the best ways/tips to save for a house. She always says "once your a Mum you will never stop being a mum to your kids whatever their age" but she honestly just becomes a better Mum to me. Don't get me wrong we have had our moments - but like she says she will never stop being my Mum and I am so lucky to say and have that in my life!

That list does not even scrape the barrel with how much my mum gives and has given up for us. I am so lucky and blessed to have a mum like her.

Happy Mothers Day, Mum. xxxxx

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

There are three things that I am absolutely loving at the moment.

It's so nice that it is a little lighter in the evenings and the south has blessed with some beautiful sunshine. I can now wear cardigans instead of thick coats!

2) Fruit Teas.

I am not a hot drink drinker. I never have been either. How an Earth anyone likes tea and coffee? ick! But one of the girls at work asked me to try some of her fruit teas. I tried the green tea- ick! I tried the lemon tea- ick! Then I tried her Cranberry one - yum! I am drinking it like it's going out of fashion. I also really like the raspberry and blueberry one too!

3) America in 6 days!!!
I can hardly believe that this time next week I will be in Los Angeles. I have been so - miserablypreoccupied with work lately that I haven't been counting down. It wasn't until this morning when a patient of mine asked me when my next holiday was. I was shocked at my response of "Oh not until the 20th of this month...Oh my in 6 days time!!!" Panic mode to get stuff ready has set in!

Baby Shower.

This past Sunday my sister had her baby shower. It was organised by the baby's aunty Emma who is an events planner and she did a good job! If I had a particular word to call my sister it would be fussy. She likes things done a set way so I think Emma had quite a tough job! Nicola loved every second though.

It was a baby shower with a bit of a twist because usually baby showers are females things. But Nicola wanted Robbie (her fiancĂ©, baby's daddy) there so that meant loads of men came too. However, they were too enthused watching the Rugby! It was set in a really nice room at the back of a close family friend's pub. So we got the venue for free - bargain!

I think Nic's favourite part was opening the presents. The baby was spoilt! In this picture Nicola has a Mr Men shirt for the baby. Nicola LOVES Mr Men and Little Miss and as a kid was always reading the books. I am sure this baby will too!

They were also really blessed with essentials like nappies, wipes, nappy sacks, nursing pads etc.

This little man stole the shower though. One of Nic's friends had a baby 2 weeks ago and this is little Sawyer! He was 12 days old on the day of the shower. Robbie could not stop holding him. He will make a great Dad!!!!

The food was ace too! Their friend Sarah made cupcakes and mum Mum did a spread of food.

It looks like she is drinking wine but I promise it's lemonade! This is the only picture where you can see all of bump! During this time people were writing down their guesses for boy/girl, weight and the name. They both said none had guessed the name but there were 21 votes for boy and only 5 votes for girl!

As there were quite a lot of us playing games was difficult but we played pin the dummy on the baby and the nappy game which Nic and a few of her friends played. Basically Emma put different sauces, baby food and chocolate into the nappies and they had the guess by touching, tasting and smelling. You can see Nic "loved" it haha!!!

Nicola is 34 weeks now. Only 6 weeks to go. She is starting to get a lot of tightness and has dropped a little bit. She started pregnancy yoga and it has helped a lot. She recommends it to anyone expecting! The nursery was completed this weekend - she has gone for a circus and animal theme! My only worry is if the baby is early I am away in Cornwall and if the baby is late I am away up north with Simon's family. Let's hope the baby sticks to the 23rd April!

Aunty Becca here I come!
