A Catch Up.

I have been such a busy bee lately I feel like I have been neglecting my blog a lot. I have still managed to keep up with reading some of my favourite blogs though so that's a plus =]. I just thought I would do a catch up post!

  • Firstly, thank you so much for all your help on the dress situation for my graduation ball. It is 3 weeks away and I still do not have a dress. I decided to go with number #1 - which is what a lot of you really liked. However, it has gone out of stock, how typical!!! So I am back to square one! After much soul searching on the internet and in shops I have come down to two more. So which one do you prefer?! It will definitely be either of these ones - I'm sorry I can't try them on!

  • My parents have gone on holiday for ten days to the Mediterranean. They are having a lovely time. Sadly, their apartment was burgled the other night and luckily the thieves only got away with very little money.  Although I was annoyed, I am glad they are not letting it ruin their holiday. They deserve time away from us!
  • In saying that I am struggling with my parents being away, especially without my Mum! I am responsible for looking after my younger brother and sister at the moment. Since they do not drive I am essentially their taxi driver and whilst working long hours I am exhausted. Whenever my Mum goes away I just develop even more appreciation for what she does. Please note exhibit A...

Exhibit A.

I hate washing and the washing just seems to appear out of nowhere. It has come to the point where I have just left the clean washing on a bed to be sorted when I have time. I hate it!
  • The weather has been glorious the past couple of weeks in England. I had a BBQ last night. I have been saying to the guys all summer I will have a big BBQ round mine and I finally did it last night. It was so nice to have them round, watch films, eat food, banter, play games and listen to music. We did not get to bed until around 3am. I just love them all so much and feel so blessed!
James, Andy, Chris, Jim and Danny.
  • A couple of weeks ago I decided to use some of my monthly wages on a gym membership. I just want to feel fitter and not so sluggish. My shift work really gets my body clock out of sync sometimes and I just feel really lethargic. I joined LA fitness last week and so far I am enjoying it. I feel so refreshed after a work out which I thought were words I would never utter out of my mouth.
  • I have been following Patrice's blog for a while now and was really gutted when her younger sister was diagnosed with bone cancer last November. Well this week Anna finished her treatment and is awaiting scans to see how effective it has been. Patrice has documented her sisters journey so movingly. I have been brought to tears on so many of her posts. Her family are just amazing and the support they have received has been out of this world. So please pray (you can pledge a prayer for Anna here) and have hope that everything will work out positively for Patrice, her family and especially Anna!
  • Finally, in 5 weeks time I will qualify as a staff nurse. As long as I get my sign off onto the nursing register and pass my dissertation then I should be a qualified nurse this time next month. I just cannot wait! It has been a long tiring and fantastic three years of training. The end is so nearly here and I going to cross that finish line with a BSc honours degree in Adult Nursing =]
I will be back soon. Have a lovely weekend and for all my American friends have a brilliant fourth of July celebration.

I'm sorry to hear about your parents place being burglarized. Yay for gym memberships! Convincing myself to work out if always the hard part, but afterwards always feels worth it.

And don't feel bad about laundry piling up... I usually leave mine in the drier until Michael needs it. :)

Your parents holiday sounds lush! You must be so excited and nervous at the same time. I am very happy for you, nearly there!

mmm...with the dress. I like the black one. Your grad ball sounds formal and I really like the mesh with it. Plus you can accessorise with it. The floral one would be great for a holiday though!

Have a good weekend yourself! :)

Sorry to hear about your parents, glad they are still managing to have a great time though.

I like both dresses, sorry. :-(

Ooh, and I like the 1st one better, but the black one is more formal... I'm torn. Good luck!

You are so sweet! Thank you for posting about Anna and my family! It is so amazing the support I've received from the blogosphere, you included for sure! Thank you so much! :D

I love both dresses, but I think I'm leaning towards the black one! Good luck finding the perfect one! haha I'm sure you'll look great no matter what!

Both dresses are so beautiful! I have to say the first one is my favorite.

That second dress is fabulous! I'm a big fan of ruffles.
You're so close to getting your degree! That's exciting!

Wow you are so busy! I like dress number 1 :-) Hopefully they have it and everything works out! Can't wait to see pics from the ball!

Glad your parents are persevering and enjoying their vacay. Laundry can always wait... :)

Love dress #2. Add some cute red or pink shoes and think of how much cuter and sassier it will be. Can't wait to see what you choose and how you look in it.

I never thought I would love working out as much as I do now, either. Good luck keeping up with it.

(And thanks for the holiday wishes.)

Wow girl, you have been busy! I know what it's like taking care of the younger siblings while the parents are away... I remember those days quite clearly. It's always a good time for sibling bonding too -- they grow up so fast.

HEY! I've MISSED YOU!! I can't (but CAN!) believe you're going to be a staff nurse soon! WAY TO GO!! I love the black dress myself! I think black always looks good on blondes! Moms' work SO HARD and it always boggles my mind how they get everything accomplished! Hope you're still doing terrific!

Love, Mere

Thanks for your update - a little bit of everything. I like both dresses, but the black one is my fave.

I bet that your Mum loves to know she's appreciated. I'm lost somewhere between the housework and the washing at the moment, but as this is my place, I just have to keep digging my way out..hehe.

Good on your for joining the gym. Looking after yourself and feeling great are under-rated a lot of the time.
