I love you, Mum.

This lovely lady is my favourite person and not just because it is Mothers day today. She is my favourite person every single day.

I wrote in my Mum's card - 'Thank you for never failing me - ever'

She never fails to ask how my day is the minute I set foot in the door.
She never fails to underestimate me.
She never fails to check where I am going, who I am going out with and what time I will be back.
She never fails to give her four children time and compassion.
She never fails to tell me off when I am being melodramatic and silly.
She never fails to realise when I need a hug or a good cry.
She never fails to tell me that my life is a blank canvas and I can paint all the colours I want on it.
She never fails to tell us that she has the best job in the world raising her three daughters and one son.
She never ever fails to make me understand that all I can do is my best and that my best is always good enough.

She has never failed as my favourite person. There have been days I have made her cry, angry, not talk to me and be resentful. There have been days I have made her so proud, smile, laugh and made me feel so blessed. The best thing about finishing my degree this year will be setting foot in the house with her normal approach of asking how my day was. I cannot wait for the reply she will receive - 'My day was great. I'm a Nurse, Mum! And I could not have done it without you.' I really have no idea where I would be without her. She has never failed at being my Mum and I know she never will.

I just freaked out because I thought I forgot my Mom on Mother's Day, but then I calmed down because OUR Mother's Day is in May :)
Congrats on your job, btw!! So exciting...
