Two Thousand and Ten.

Happy New Year Everyone!

So a new day, a new year and a new decade :) I LOVED seeing the New Year fireworks (and the confetti in Times Square!) from around the world. I can honestly say I was pleased that 2009 ended. I spent new years round my friend's Lou Lou's new year/engagement party. Despite having a stinking cold it was fantastic to see my friends, chat, watch fireworks, dance to music and dress up. When I got to bed at 11am this morning I knew that I had started 2010 in a good way.

I remember ten years ago when we had the Millennium and my year six teacher quoted something to me that has always stuck with me each year Big Ben has chimed in midnight.

'The optimistic person stays up until midnight and beyond to see the new year in with hope and anticipation. The pessimist stays up until midnight to make sure the old year ends.'

I am always optimistic about a new year. I always try to envisage a good year ahead with positive changes. I am not a person who makes new years resolutions because they pretty much end by lunchtime on January 1st. However, this year I am starting project 365 so my task is to maintain that and I am excited. :)

This is the only picture I got at midnight as I was being smothered with new year hugs. Seeing the new year in with hope and anticipation.

Have you got any new years resolutions for 2010? I cannot wait to see and read what this new year brings to all of you!

It looks like you had a great New Year's Eve! I wasn't able to go out, so it was a little boring for me.

I don't make resolutions but I've decided that this is the year I'm going to focus on me: I'm going to get out of my comfort zone and do things I might not normally do, I'm going to go places and see new things, and I'm going to learn how to appreciate myself for just what I am.

So glad you had a fun new years eve. I was in michigan new years eve, so I spent it counting the new year in with my family. Here's to a great new year!

What a great quote! Sounds like you had an awesome new years eve! I didn't make any resolutions this year because I never end up keeping them anyway. I can't wait to follow you throughout 2010 and see what this new year brings for both of us!

That is a great quote! My husband came up over my shoulder while I was reading your page and he added "And the apathetic person heads for bed at 11!" Can't wait to see your new pics for the Projects 365!

Nice to be optimistic - I am too and I get quite emotional at New Year! LOL! I don't generally make new years resolutions, not publically anyhow, maybe some quietly to myself, so no-one knows if I've followed through or not!
Ha!
I do hope that 2010 will bring you much love and happiness!

Happy New Year Rebecca! I love the new navigation bar under your header - how did you do that? I've been wanting one for a while. Can't wait to see all your pictures for Project 365 too!

Christmas craziness has kept me away from your blog. I'm excited to see that you are doing Project 365 and that it was a gift from your Grandma no less. I'm sure it will be a treasure for many many years to come.

I missed Jessica's cookie exchange too. I wanted to take part and I also wanted to bake sugar cookies this year, but I had to cut something off my list and they were my casualties. Maybe I can do them for Easter.
