Nostalgic Moments.

Today in England it is living up to its label. Good ol' Rainy England.

I love the sunshine but there is one reason why I love rain too. It is my favourite sound! (very closely followed by the beeping sound of the atm machine giving me money.)

There is nothing more relaxing to me than going to bed or waking up to the sound of the rain. I, also, love the dewey smell it releases in spring when soil is fresh. I have a lovely feeling of nostalgia overcome me when it rains and it pours. I captured it on video, the actual footage is rubbish because you can't see the rain bucketing it down. Yet, I just wanted to film the sound for myself and to share with you guys. (I know everyone has heard rain lol but this is English rain - a whole new meaning not.)

I remember when I was younger I would just stand motionless in the rain, in my sesame street (yellow!) raincoat, and just day-dream to the sound of the rain.

What sounds make you nostalgic or you just love?! I would love to know!

Oh, the smell of freshly cut grass just does it for me!!

I know what you mean about the smell after it rains, I went out this morning for milk (God, I sound like an old lady) and the smell was so fresh, lush!

Another great thing about the rain...I have an excuse NOT to mess about with my hair, I can just say. It'll only get messed up so why bother. LOVE IT!

I LOVE the smell after it rains late at night or early in the morning. The smell of dew is wonderful! I also love the pitter patter of rain when I am falling asleep at night. It is so soothing.

Thanks for your sweet, sweet comment on my blog post. It was very encouraging. :) I think we would be great friends. If I ever come up to England sometime I will let you know! LOL! I love reading your blog! Keep up the good work!

I LOVE rain. The sound and the smell afterwards and everything. So that video made me kind of sleepy, lol. Freshly cut grass makes me nostalgic too. Good times.

Ooh, and I got the vases taken care of. I just made sure to wrap them above my bed, so if I dropped them, they would have been good.

And thank you for your comment about the wedding day. If I do trip... I hope someone catches it on camera. =)

I think it's so funny you videoed the sound of rain, I'm chuckling to myself.

I love being indoors in the warm when it's raining outside. I love having all the lights on.

I also imagine I'm alive many, many years ago and I'm sheltering from a storm indoors with a real log fire.

P.S. I do not like rain so much when I'm at work because it brings all the customers indoors lol

It's not a sound, but I love the smell of pipe tobacco. When I was a little girl, I would stand out in the garage with my Pap when he would smoke his pipe. I always loved that smell and even now, I think of him when I smell it. Too bad he quit smoking years ago ;-)

I love the smell of rain! I love the smell right before it rains, when you know its coming. I also love sleeping when it's raining, I always sleep better then.

Luckily for me we are suppose to have rain all day tomorrow here in North Texas!

(I only don't like rain when I have to go to class, the drainage system on my campus is terrible and it can flood in some places pretty bad.)

I too love the sound of rain. Especially when I am about to go to sleep! I also love the smell of fresh cut grass. Growing up, I lived on a farm so we had a huge yard so that smell always takes me back. Since moving out, my yard is about 20 square feet, so I don't get the smell quite so much anymore.

You sooooo would not want to catsit my cats. They are the devils younger siblings!!

Here's a basic night of living with evil #1 and evil #2.
wake up several times to them playing with your feet.
wake up several more times to them eating your feet.
wake up several more times for them to be sitting on your face and eating your fair.

Still want to cat sit???

I love the sound of rain and the smell of freshly cut grass.

Where I live there are wild onions everywhere and when I was little me and my sister would dig them up and pretend we were pioneers trying to get by. So when someone mows their lawn here every now and then I get a whiff of those wild onions and it takes me back.

The only time I like the sound of rain is at night, when I'm in bed and I know I don't have to do anything or go anywhere the next day if it's still raining! :)

That video was so cool! In Vegas it only rains a couple times a year and it doesn't pour like that. It just sprinkles and everyone flips out and runs outside to see it. Then they suddenly forget how to drive and the roads become pure chaos.
Thanks for sharing that! It is cool to see something different when you are used to the sun shining all the time! :)

I too love the sound of rain. It makes me just want to curl up infront of the tv in my jammies all day long!!

I have a You Tube question for you: Can you upload videos on there and then make them private? I want to add video to my blog of my son but don't like the idea of EVERYONE seeing it, just the VERY FEW that read my blog..hehe.
