Never Let Go.

This may be the opposite of others thoughts - but I love looking at photos of myself, my family and friends as we were growing up. I remember when I was younger getting the photo box out virtually every couple of months. I would go through each one and ask the same questions about them and when it was taken. My parents would always ask ‘do you not get tired of doing this?. The simple answer - no. I love memories. I love the people in the them. I love seeing the changes made and I love the fact that they each have a story. I know many people who say they do not understand why people take so many mementos of the same view, trips, faces and smiles.

I do understand and I think it is amazing. They show that our lives are pretty crazy with what we capture. Hence, my camera comes around with me a lot.

Recently, I forgot the power of them and I went through my personal photo box that I made a couple of years ago. I hadn’t been through it in ages and I revelled in doing so. I remember at the time I had been crying until my bed sheets were soaked with tears from anger, sadness and desperation to achieve. I can honestly say it was the best treatment to bring a smile to my face. My lovely boyfriend advised me that I made a video of all my favourites and I would like to share it with you below. It took me ages to do and I am pleased with it, as my IT skills leave a lot to be desired for.

In everything I do I love to find the meaning. We do not do what we do in life without a rationale behind why we choose it. I chose the song ‘Never Let Go’ by David Crowder Band. I have heard it has become quite popular in America and I fell in love with the song once I heard it on Angie’s blog. The song speaks volumes to me.

We never let go of what is important to us. We never let go of what upsets us the most. We never let go of those moments where we take a mental picture and saviour it our thoughts. We never let go of our dreams. We never let go of the people we miss the most. We never let go because that is what keeps us strong and what makes us get up every morning to live out our lives.

I am nothing without my parents bringing me up with no deprivation and teaching me that all I can do is my best. I am nothing without my siblings who I could kill a lot of the time, but would kill to have them everyday. I am nothing without my best friends who show me constantly that I can do it even when I feel heartbroken. I am nothing without my boyfriend who teaches me everyday that it is the simple pleasures in life that are the most mind blowing. I would feel empty without this blog. I will never let go of the amazing stories and 'friends' I have made on this. Finally, and even though I cannot admit it sometimes…I am nothing without the patients I take care of in my nursing training. They relinquish my ultimate passion - to take care of others before myself.

I will never let go of my family and friends. They never let go when I lose my grip on reality through sunshine and rain. They have taught me through these pictures that you can never truly let go, it just isn’t possible…when they are the building blocks to who I am and who carry me and each other through everything. Literally everything and I am forever indebted to them for that.

Beeca I'm so lame, I cried. That was lovely.

We don't have a lot of pictures - our family is kinda weird - I'm sure that's something that makes my mum kinda sad. I know that when I have kids I'll take like 457487 pictures of them growing up.
